IPL match timings to change from 2023
BCCI has informed all prospective broadcasters that it intends to start night matches from 8 PM onwards, come IPL 2023. The preferred timing for afternoon games has been said to be 4 PM. The current match timings are 3.30 PM and 7.30 PM for afternoon and evening games respectively.
Star India, Times Internet, Viacom 18, Sony, Amazon, Zee, Dream 11, Supersports in South Africa and Sky in the UK have shown interest in IPL broadcasting rights. According to Cricbuzz, the bidding will take place on June 12 and the BCCI has fixed a combined base price of INR 32,890 crore for the four bouquets it has put up for sale.
The 2022 IPL Final will start at 8 PM in Ahmedabad.
Akash Madhwal to replace injured Suryakumar Yadav
Uttarakhand bowler Akash Madhwal gets his first IPL contract as he is signed by Mumbai Indians to make up for the loss of Suryakumar yadav. Madhwal has played all three formats for his state. He bowls right-arm medium-pace. MI are already out of Playoffs contention after a forgettable season.
Ajinkya Rahane injured, no further participation in IPL 2022
KKR batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of this IPL season due to a hamstring injury. He developed it during the Knight Riders' last match. He continued to play on before getting dismissed for 28.
Shimron Hetmyers rejoins RR camp
Rajasthan Royals batter Shimron Hetmyer has returned after the birth of his first child. He has joined the RR squad and will be available for their game against CSK.
Hetmyer has been in good form this IPL with 291 runs at a strike rate of 166.28. Rajasthan sit second on the points table with 8 wins in 13 matches so far. Their Playoffs spot is virtually sealed, thanks to their good net run rate.
Ambati Rayudu leaves Twitter confused
CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu recently shared on Twitter that this season of the Indian Premier League will be his last. He has been a part of the Chennai franchise from 2018, after being released by Mumbai Indians.

Minutes after making the announcement, Ambati Rayudu deleted his retirement tweet. It is still not clear why. Too much turbulence in the CSK camp?
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that Rayudu is not retiring (source: NDTV). "Ambati Rayudu is not retiring. Maybe he wasn't happy with his performances and might have put it out. Just a psychological thing, I reckon. He'll be with us", he said.

Pat Cummins ruled out of IPL 2022
Pat Cummins has suffered a hip injury as a result of which he will no longer be participating in the remaining matches of KKR. He has already left for Sydney to continue his recovery ahead of the Sri Lanka tour.
Cummins played five matches this season returning 7 wickets at an economy of 10.68. His two notable contributions came against Mumbai Indians - a 14-ball fifty and a three-wicket haul, in different matches.
KKR currently sit seventh on the points table with five wins in 12 games. They have an outside chance of Playoffs qualification if they manage to win their last two matches.
