Jofra Archer ruled out of 2022 English Summer

Diagnosed with a stress fracture of the lower back, Archer will no longer be able to participate in England's cricket matches this summer. His last international game came in March 2021, against India. This adds to the list of injured England bowlers with Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Ollie Robinson, Mark Wood, Olly Stone, Saqib Mahmood and Matthew Fisher already on the sidelines.

Navjot Singh Siddhu to be jailed for one year

On December 27, 1988 Siddhu assaulted 65-year old Gurnam Singh and landed some blows on him. As a result, Singh succumbed to death.

Matthew Mott named as England white-ball coach

Former Australia Women's team coach Matthew Mott has been named as England ODI and T20I coach. He has led the Australian Women's team to World Cup victories, in 2020 and 2022. Brendon McCullum has already been appointed as the head coach of the Test team.

VVS Laxman to coach India on Ireland tour

Former India player VVS Laxman has been named as the coach of the second-string Indian team that will tour Ireland in June, for two T20Is. Head coach Rahul Dravid will be with the main team for the England Tour, as they will be playing last year's rescheduled fifth Test along with some limited-overs matches.

South Africa name T20I squad for India Tour

Bjorn Fortuin and Wiaan Mulder miss out after being a part of the 2021 T20 WC squad while the uncapped Tristan Stubbs and Marco Jansen are new faces. Also, Wayne Parnell makes a comeback.

Retired Australian Cricketer Andrew Symonds passes away in car accident

In an unfortunate turn of events, Australian allrounder Andrew Symonds died in a car accident. The 46-year old had been part of the 2003 and 2007 World Cup-winning squads. He appreared in 238 international games before calling it quits in 2009.

Symonds was involved in the infamous Monkeygate controversy during the 2008 Sydney Test. He scored an attacking century in that match and gave Australia a 2-0 lead in the series. Recently, Ben Stokes broke his record of hitting most sixes in a County Championship match. 

Brendon McCullum appointed as Head Coach of the England Test Team

Brendon McCullum

McCullum is set to coach England's Test team, replacing Chris Silverwood at the position. McCullum, a veteran of 101 tests, has been often credited for transforming New Zealand Cricket. He inspired a group of men who went on to play three consecutive World Cup Finals and also won the World Test Championship.

McCullum is currently coaching Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022, who still have a shot at making the Playoffs. He will join the England team after finishing his duties with the franchise.

IPL 2022 Review

The 15th edition of the T20 cricket league saw two new teams being added to the competition - Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants. In an interesting (but not shocking) turn of events, the two most successful franchises in IPL history, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, finished at the bottom of the points table. After nine weeks of enthralling cricket action, Gujarat Titans have emerged as winners. But this IPL season, like the ones before, has given us a lot of talking points, ranging from auction strategy to plan execution. Mumbai Indians (10th) Mumbai Indians basically had no one to support Jasprit Bumrah. Unlike previous seasons where the Mumbai team would be filled with T20 superstars, IPL 2022 saw them play Daniel Sams, Tymal Mills, Murugan Ashwin and Basil Thampi in their first XI. Thei...
